Staverncombe Alabaster Wall Sconce
Description
The Staverncombe Alabaster Wall Sconce is a plumb line. A thin metal rod hangs straight down from a small triangular bracket on a round plate. the way a mason's string drops from a nail. and at the end of it sits a single sphere of Spanish alabaster in place of the lead weight. The rod runs on past the bracket and stops a few centimeters above it. so the bracket reads as a clamp holding the line rather than a hook. Lit from inside. the stone turns cloud-white with grey and amber marbling. a small weight glowing at the bottom of a long. still line.
